Serbia-Montenegro's football team was crashed by Australia, Silvija Erdelji and Slobodan Grujic qualified for the second round of the table tennis tournament, men's pair without coxswain reached semifinals, shooter Andrija Zlatic won 13th place in 10m air pistol, bicyclist Ivan Stevic withdrew from road race, swimmer Mladen Tepavcevic failed to reach semifinals in men's 100m breaststroke.

Preliminary round, Group C, Day 2 Serbia-Montenegro - Australia 1-5 (0-2). Scorers: Radonjic (72') for Serbia-Montenegro, Cahill (11'), Aloisi (45', 57') and Elrich (60', 86") for Australia. Australian keeper Eugen Galekovic saved the penalty from midfielder Simon Vukcevic.
