Speaking at a press conference, Samardzic-Markovic said that these activities will recognise the richness of diversity and equality, and encourage active participation in the fight against discrimination.
She said that the Ministry has joined this European youth campaign for human rights, and stressed that Serbia as a member of the Council of Europe (CoE) is both entitled and obliged to take part in such regional and international campaigns.
She recalled that the CoE launched this campaign in 1995 in order to reinforce the fight against racism, anti-Semitism, xenophobia and intolerance.
Samardzic-Markovic stressed that Serbia values solidarity and tolerance, and added that the campaign is to be conducted jointly by the government and the NGO sector.
According to her, there is a possibility that the Ministry, together with the Council of Europe, will organise a seminar in Belgrade on youth policy in southeastern Europe.
The Minister voiced hope that the Serbian capital has the capacity to host such a big international conference.
Assistant Minister Ivana Kovacevic said that the draft of the national youth strategy will be symbolically presented to the public at the internet page
www.zamislizivot.org on Valentine's Day, February 14.
She said that together with the strategy, there will be forms where the readers will be able to post their comments and proposals. Seven regional conferences will be organised as part of the public debate on the strategy and they will gather the young and their associations, the professional public, representatives of local self-governments and the media.
Kovacevic said that a caravan "Imagine the life" will be organised in cooperation with NGOs and it will pass through ten Serbian towns, where the young, in a slightly different way, will have the opportunity to get involved and give their proposals.
