Mladjan Dinkic
Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic said that the Serbian Privatisation Agency will send a public call on January 25 for distribution of free shares of public companies to Serbian citizens.
He said that the process of registering will start on January 28 until July 31 in all postal offices in the country.
In order to acquire free shares of Serbian oil industry NIS, Telekom, power company EPS, Galenika and the Nikola Tesla Airport, for nearly four million citizens, those interested should bring only the personal identity card to the counter at their local post office, where the staff are obliged to register them and provide attestation, said Dinkic.
According to Dinkic, citizens will sign two copies of a form, of which one will go to the Privatisation Agency, so that the state may verify data, while the other copy belongs to the applicant.
Along with this, the applicant will have to submit a bank account number and proceeds from free shares will be paid into this account. An account will immediately be opened for those who do not have it, said the Minister.
Dinkic said that citizens must personally appear and there is no mediation involved which will be punishable by law.
Citizens living abroad may apply at embassies, while those with disabilities will be registered by a special committee which consists of representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the postal service and the National Employment Service, said Dinkic.
According to Dinkic, former and present employees of these companies will apply at the National Employment Service. Besides the personal identity card, they will also need an attestation of citizenship, address of residence and work documents.
Dinkic said that any person who does not personally appear for registration will be considered a non-applicant.
The Minister said that the Serbian government approved today RSD 3.5 billion to the National Service for Housing Loan Insurance for 2008, and added that these funds were provided for approving more home loans from the government’s programme for giving loans to those younger than 45.
