Lalovic told a press conference that this step is a continuation of the policy which was conducted during the previous three years, according to which salaries of employees whose work is more complex should be higher than those whose jobs are simpler.
The Minister explained that the adoption of this Decree, in accordance with protocols signed last year with trade unions in these sectors, has defined the income policy for these activities until the end of this year.
According to Lalovic, it is envisaged that higher salaries in these sectors will be paid from November, except for employees in cultural establishments where the raise will be given starting from June.
Lalovic said that salaries will be increased for employees in higher education establishments by 20%, and for other areas mentioned by 4.2%.
Speaking on the payments from the budget, the Minister explained that until now social benefits were paid normally and voiced hope that it will be so also in the future. He warned however that due to changes in the technical aspects of calculation no payments will be made from the Treasury Directorate until May 7.
