Ristanovic told a press conference after the signing that the aim of adopting a code of ethics is to promote all forms of cooperation and standards in professional behaviour which lead to faster and better employment and the reduction of unemployment.
He said that this document also stimulates the development of institutional capacities in the labour market, increases competition and employment, professional and territorial mobility of workforce, as well as the prevention of social isolation and risk group formation.
According to him, the services should interchange data on registered persons seeking employment as well as on candidates sought by the employer.
Employment agencies and the National Employment Service will be able to exchange information on joint presentations in fairs, labour market for vacant jobs and to jointly train staff, said Ristanovic.
He added that the code is result of joint work of the National Employment Service and employment agencies.
Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic, who was present at the signing, stated that the purpose of this code is to build institutional capacities of the labour market and increase employment.
Lalovic outlined that the development of services means affirmation of private initiative, that is, private agencies and organisations mediating in employment, pointing out that private agencies are an important part of that system.
He expressed hope that some of these agencies will be specialised for work with those categories of unemployed persons in which the government is particularly interested, such as work with disabled persons and providing consultancy services.
The Minister also said that RSD 150 million will be set aside from the budget next year to revive cooperation of private agencies and the National Employment Service.
