The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) today adopted a decision allocating mandates to members of the new convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, elected in the early parliamentary elections held on 25 October.
According to the final election results, the “Student List – Students Are Winning” was allocated 140 mandates, while the “Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia” list was allocated 103 mandates.
Seven more MPs from minority lists will enter parliament.
The “Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians – Dr Bálint Pásztor” electoral list and the “Albanian Coalition” list won two mandates each, while the “Rasim Ljajić – Human (SDP – CDP)”, “SDA of Sandžak – Guardians of Sandžak” and “Usame Zukorlić (SPP) – Movement for Unification” electoral lists will each have one MP. The latter won its mandate following repeat elections at 53 polling stations.
The RIK will issue certificates of election to the candidates confirming their status as members of parliament. All other lists, out of the 18 that participated in the elections, failed to win any mandates.
The new parliament is to be constituted within 30 days of the announcement of the final election results.
