Speaking on the importance of bringing the region closer to the European Union, Starović emphasised that the European perspective must be much more than a political promise, especially for younger generations.
In his view, for young people, European integration is not measured by the number of opened negotiating chapters, but by opportunities to study, travel, work and develop their potential under the same conditions as their peers across Europe.
Therefore, it is essential to further expand cooperation in the fields of education, science, innovation and professional exchange, while also accelerating the gradual integration of the Western Balkans into the EU single market, the Minister stated.
He emphasised that citizens must experience the tangible benefits of the European path even before full membership, noting that gradual integration must not be a substitute for membership, but rather a bridge leading to it.
