Velimir Ilic
At a press conference following the government session, Ilic said that the government adopted the Bill on the ratification of the agreement on putting up a high-performance railway network in Southeast Europe which is very important because it strictly defines the criteria in railway traffic.
He said that one of the criteria implies setting up managing boards at the level of southeast European ministries in charge of traffic which will ensure that all participants in railway traffic respect the rules indispensable for traffic to function properly.
The rules were prescribed by the EU and the aim, among other things is to connect large cities and use combined transport, said Ilic adding that Serbia has recently fulfilled one of the criteria, namely the one referring to combined transport on Corridor 10 and the first convoy of trucks on trains passed down the corridor on its way to Turkey.
He stressed that tunnels and bridges have been expanded for this purpose and the necessary reconstruction performed on Corridor 10 and announced that the same will be done next year on the Belgrade-Bar railway.
Speaking about the Bill on the ratification of the protocol on amendments to the Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail, Ilic said that the bill concerns several regulations referring to the manner certain materials, especially hazardous ones, will be transported, and it also looks into the way the traffic and traffic infrastructure are used in certain countries.
The Minister said that this is why the ring road around Belgrade must be completed. The Ostruznica Bridge was constructed because of the ring road and it now remains to build a vehicle-rail bridge near Vinca because hazardous materials that are transported from Vinca to Pancevo chemical industry must not be transported through Belgrade any longer.
Slobodan Lalovic
Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic expressed expectation that apart from the Association of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia, other trade unions will also support the referendum in the upcoming days and added that the right response by the workforce of Serbia will not just make the referendum a success, but will also give a very clear and determined answer to everyone concerning the question of Serbia's territorial integrity.
Lalovic stressed that at today’s government session an agreement was reached that four competent ministries in charge of solving problems in export in the military industry sector, will attempt to remove all obstacles as soon as possible so that export can go ahead unhindered.
Similarly, it was agreed that additional funds be secured for public companies dealing in underground exploitation, such as the mines Rembas, Resavica and others, so that they can function without problems.
