Speaking at a press conference held after the signing of the protocol, Vuksanovic said that best final year students with the average grade of 9.5 and more will receive the EFG Eurobank grant of €1,000 per student.
He said that currently there are 343 students in Serbia who have the average grade of 9.5 and more, and that the final list of students who receive a grant will be announced by the end of October, after the final examinations deadline, and the stipends will be distributed by the end of 2006.
According to Vuksanovic, the number of students who will receive grants can be bigger, considering the fact that some of them might improve their average grade in examinations held in September and October.
Ioannou explained that the programme of providing grants to best students in Serbia is part of the corporate social responsibility project of the bank, which for that purpose has allocated a sum of €3 million for two years.
According to Iaonnou, the sum of €3 million will be equally distributed in the sectors of health, education and environmental protection.
He recalled that the EFG Eurobank Belgrade secured a donation worth €1 million for the Ministry of Health for the purpose of procuring modern equipment for the Clinical Centre, and explained that soon an agreement should be signed for the reconstruction of the botanical garden Jevremovac in Belgrade.
