After the meeting with representatives of health unions, Dinkic said that €200 million will be set aside from privatisation proceeds, while the remaining €150 million will be acquired through loans.
He explained that after the number of employees has been reduced by almost 10,000 workers through the social programme, doctors and medical staff will get a salary increase of 40.5%, while the salaries of non-qualified medical personnel will be increased by 10.4%.
At the beginning of the Serbian government's mandate, the ratio between salaries in the health sector was 3:1, while today it was proposed to health unions that the ratio be increased to 4.45:1, the Minister said. He added that this year, the social programme for non-medical staff will be presented.
Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic said that some €100 million will be invested in emergency reconstruction of hospitals and other projects. He said that reconstruction works on the hospitals Dedinje 2, Kamenica 2, the maternity ward in Pozarevac and the Polyclinic in the Belgrade neighbourhood of Bezanijska Kosa are drawing to a close.
In addition, the Ministry plans to completely reconstruct all 160 community health centres in Serbia, Milosavljevic explained and voiced hope that after that patients will get better treatment, and that working conditions for health workers will also improve.
The Minister announced that on March 14 a report on extraordinary supervision of the psychiatric hospital Laza Lazarevic will be presented.
Representatives of three health unions voiced hope that members of their unions will accept Serbian government's proposals laid out at today's meeting.
