The Serbian parliament adopted today the 2023 budget revision, which determines that the total planned revenues amount to RSD 1,904 billion and are RSD 60.6 billion higher than what was planned in the initial budget.
The budget revision provides funds for new capital projects and investments, in the amount of an additional RSD 23 billion.
RSD 35 billion are earmarked for additional subsidies in agriculture, and RSD 3.9 billion for the treatment of rare diseases and medical treatment abroad.
The budget revision also provides funds for the payment of aid in the amount of RSD 10,000 each to mothers of children up to 16 years of age, for a 5.5 percent increase in pensions and the same increase for educators, nurses and technicians and caregivers in social welfare institutions.
The Serbian parliament also adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes, which increases excise duties on oil derivatives, tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, coffee and liquid for filling electronic cigarettes by eight percent.
The law, which, among other things, introduces the e-excise system, will be applied as of 1 October 2023, with part of the provisions to be applied later.
With the increase in excise duties, an increase in revenues, primarily from oil derivatives and cigarettes, of approximately RSD 4 billion is expected by the end of this year.
