Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujovic said today that the green transition and investment in raising environmental standards are among the key priorities of the government, noting that the strategic goal is membership in the European Union and the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

At the opening of the regional "Look up" conference, which gathered a large number of experts in the field of energy and environmental protection in Kopaonik, Vujovic pointed out that the Green Agenda is an opportunity for the development, modernisation of technologies and the establishment of new and better opportunities on the larger market for the benefit of life environment.
She stated that the relevant ministry has identified the activities that need to be undertaken in order to successfully implement the Declaration from Sofia in practice.
According to her, Serbia will need approximately €12.7 billion to comply with the main EU directives and regulations within Chapter 27 alone, while the costs of implementing the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans have not yet been estimated, given that it goes beyond the Chapter 27 and Cluster 4.
