Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic opened today the 58th International Fair of Furniture, Equipment and Interior Decoration and the 58th International Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood Industry.
It is the most significant event in the field of design, production and distribution of furniture, wood industry and related branches in Southeast Europe.
Momirovic expressed his satisfaction with holding this event in Belgrade after a two-year break, adding that during the six days of the fair, business people and companies dedicated to innovation, top design, quality and functionality of furniture will gather.
The minister stated that the value of furniture exports of all materials for eight months of this year amounted to approximately $500 million, which is 5.8 percent more than the same period last year.
If we look only at wooden furniture, exports in this period amounted to $232 million and increased by 8.3 percent, Momirovic said.
More than 180 exhibitors from 20 countries are participating in this year's fair.
