President of the Republic Election Commission (RIK) Vladimir Dimitrijevic said that most polling stations closed tonight at 8 o'clock and that all voters who happened to be there at closing time were allowed to vote.
At today's last press conference held in the parliament building at 9 pm, Dimitrijevic said that the election process passed in a democratic atmosphere and that there were no major irregularities at the polling stations.
RIK did not announce the preliminary turnout in the presidential and early parliamentary elections tonight.
The RIK President explained the procedure of counting the votes after the closing of the polling stations and added that the final turnout will be announced within the legally prescribed deadline.
According to him, RIK will hold a session on Monday after 8 pm, at which preliminary results will be announced based on the polling stations processed until that time.
