There are 1,028 patients in hospital, 66 of whom are on ventilators.
In the last 24 hours, 15 people died as a result of the virus, so the total number of deaths is 15,619, and the mortality rate is 0.80 percent.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 8,956,349 people have been tested, of whom 1,945,142 were positive for coronavirus, the statement said.
