After the session of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team, Gojkovic called on everyone to respect the epidemiological measures currently in place and added that the team decided to reduce the duration of quarantine from 10 to seven days due to the lighter form of the disease and so that the citizens who have been tested positive to the coronavirus could go back to work as soon as possible.
The team also decided to reduce the interval between the second and the third dose of the vaccine to three months.
Gojkovic specified that the omicron variant of coronavirus is currently dominant in Serbia and that flu also appeared, which was not recorded last year.
The team decided to reduce the price of coronavirus tests made at one’s own request and thus the price of a PCR test will be reduced from the previous RSD 9,000 to RSD 6,000, and of an antigen test from the previous RSD 3,500 to RSD 1,800.
Speaking about the second half-term in schools, Gojkovic said that as of Monday, 17 January, pupils of elementary schools in Vojvodina will continue with in-person classes, whereas students of secondary schools will start with a combined form of instruction.
He said that the decision on the manner of instruction in schools in central Serbia in the second half-term will be made on Tuesday and noted that the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team favours the model applied in schools in Vojvodina.
