Prime Minister Ana Brnabic received the third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at the Belgrade Fair today and reiterated that vaccination is the only way out of the pandemic.
After the vaccination, Brnabic announced that a meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team will be held during the coming week, adding that today she will have consultations with the medical part of the team to see if anything extra needs to be done.
The medical workers who work in covid system are tired, I believe that this is more difficult than it was at the beginning; the number of deaths is worrying, the Prime Minister underlined.
She said that at this moment, a model is being sought for the introduction of covid passes so as to disable abuse and falsification, adding that not all covid guards have the right to ask for ID cards for inspection, but that the government considers passing a decision that would allow it.
The Prime Minister underlined that unvaccinated people are dying and that with vaccination, which is the only way out of the pandemic, it is easy to save those lives.
She pointed out that wearing a mask indoors is mandatory and that inspections will have zero tolerance for that.
The Prime Minister noted that it is incomprehensible that some doctors do not recommend the vaccine against coronavirus, estimating that they thus directly endanger people's lives.
Brnabic stated that more than 54 percent of the adult population was vaccinated with the first dose, while slightly more than 14 percent of citizens received the third dose.
According to her, there are 85 local self-governments in Serbia in which more than 50 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated and 14 municipalities where more than 60 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated.
