There are 6,591 patients in hospital treatment, of whom 269 are on ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, 53 people died as a result of the virus, which increased the total number of deaths to 8,841, and the mortality rate is 0.87 percent.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 5,898,089 people have been tested, of whom 1,017,798 were positive for coronavirus, the statement said.
