There are 6,599 patients in hospital treatment, of which 271 are on ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, 54 people died as a result of the virus, which increased the total number of deaths to 8,737, and the mortality rate is 0.87 percent.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 5,855,069 people have been tested, of whom 1,005,168 were positive for coronavirus, the statement said.
