There are 6,530 patients in hospital treatment, of whom 278 are on ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, 50 people died as a result of the virus, which increased the total number of deaths to 8,531, and the mortality rate is 0.87 percent.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 5,775,117 people have been tested, of whom 981,329 were positive for coronavirus, the statement said.
