Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin met today at the Gradina border crossing with Deputy Prime Minister of the technical government and Minister of the Interior of Bulgaria Boyko Rashkov.
The two ministers spoke about the prevention of irregular migration and about the continuation of cooperation in the field of internal affairs.
Vulin underlined that Bulgaria is one of Serbia’s key partners in the Western Balkans in suppressing criminal activities and the fight against organised crime.
Speaking about irregular migration and human trafficking, he pointed out that Serbia will not be a parking lot for migrants, but that it will surely be a part of the solution to irregular migration.
The Ministers also spoke about joint projects of the two states, and noted that the Belgrade-Sofia motorway and the Balkan Stream gas pipeline are of strategic importance for both countries as they contribute to the growth of investments.
In addition, they proposed the re-introduction of regular mixed patrols on the Serbian-Bulgarian border, which would help prevent irregular crossings.
