Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar met today with Director of the World Health Organisation for Europe Hans Kluge on the sidelines of the WHO Summit on Pandemic Mental Health, which is being held in Athens today and tomorrow.
Loncar and Kluge talked about the current epidemiological situation in Serbia and the region, as well as about further activities around the vaccination program.
On that occasion, the issue of mandatory vaccination was especially emphasised, as well as previous experiences and studies on the necessity of the third dose of vaccine.
Kluge once again expressed great support to Minister Loncar in the implementation of activities aimed at controlling the epidemic, as well as further improvement of the health system of our country.
The Minister had a presentation within the ministerial part of the summit, where he presented the achievements and plans of Serbia in the protection of the mental health of the population during the pandemic.
The summit entitled "State of Mental Health, Improvement of Mental Well-Being and Strengthening Resilience in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic" is attended by the highest officials from Europe, and the gathering was opened by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Health ministers will adopt the Athens Declaration on Mental Health, expressing commitment to efforts to promote mental health and support the coronavirus recovery agenda, to prevent the emergence of chronic mental health problems as a result of the pandemic.
