Treatment of Austrian pension holders in Banja Koviljaca spa

Banja Koviljaca, 22 June 2021

Representatives of Banja Koviljaca Special Hospital for Rehabilitation and the Pension Insurance Institute of Austria signed today, in the presence of Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Darija Kisic Tepavcevic and Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, the Agreement on providing medical rehabilitation to Austrian health and pension insurance holders.

The agreement enables the treatment of Austrian insured persons, i.e. pension beneficiaries in Banja Koviljaca Special Hospital for Rehabilitation for the problems related to musculoskeletal system, with an initial capacity of 30 beds.

Kisic Tepavcevic pointed out that Serbia has exceptional bilateral relations with the Republic of Austria in the field of social insurance, that there is the Agreement on social insurance that covers all branches, including pension, disability and health insurance and unemployment insurance.

Loncar said that there is great room for expanding all types of cooperation, that the capacities of Serbia are much bigger and that he hopes that this is just the beginning of cooperation.

General Director of the Austrian Pension Insurance Fund Winfried Pinger said that he is convinced that Banja Koviljaca is one of the best for this type of service and that he is looking forward to future cooperation.
