Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar spoke in Belgrade today with Minister of Health of North Macedonia Venko Filipce about the continuation of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against coronavirus.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Filipce, Loncar pointed out that cooperation, especially in the time of a pandemic, is necessary.
According to him, an agreement has been reached on the further cooperation between experts from North Macedonia and Serbia aimed at preserving public health systems and preventing that any country ends up in a bad situation.
He said that somewhat less than 15,000 citizens of North Macedonia have been vaccinated in Serbia and added that citizens of that country can apply for immunisation in Serbia through the portal eGovernment.
Loncar added that the situation with coronavirus in Serbia is a bit better because the health system is not overburdened, noting that in order to relax epidemiological measures it is necessary to evaluate all parameters that are followed during a pandemic.
Filipce expressed gratitude on behalf of North Macedonia to the brotherly Serbian people on the important donation of vaccines, thanks to which the vaccination process has started in that country.
He said that all health workers in North Macedonia are vaccinated, and thanked Serbia for opening its door wide for the vaccination of citizens of North Macedonia.
Filipce also said that the Torlak Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera in Belgrade will be a strategic partner of North Macedonia in the future procurement of coronavirus vaccines.
