Cooperation between Serbia, WHO in fight against coronavirus

Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar and Regional Director of the World Health Organisation for Europe Hans Kluge visited today the Torlak Institute, where the first phase of production of the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" should begin in about a month.

On that occasion, Loncar expressed his gratitude to the director of the WHO for Europe, who is on a two-day visit to Serbia, for help and support, thanks to which today we have plants for storing and storing vaccines at all temperatures that are necessary.

It is not only about $340,000 that were set aside thanks to Kluge and the WHO, but the significance is much greater, because it is about the capacities without which the question is what our results would be, the Minister pointed out.

According to him, thanks to all that, Serbia today has results that are recognisable all over the world.

The only way out of the pandemic and the situation it brought is to be in solidarity and help each other. Serbia is an example in the world of how this is done, Kluge pointed out, announcing that the WHO will continue to cooperate with our country.

He especially praised the determination of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, to invest funds in the further development of the Torlak Institute.

According to him, it is necessary to speed up the vaccination process, and in order to achieve that, it is necessary to increase the production of vaccines.

The vaccine saves lives and there is no place for geopolitics, and that is exactly how Serbia behaved, Kluge said, praising the Minister of Health, the Torlak Institute, as well as the entire Serbian government for the leading role they have in responding to the coronavirus pandemic.
