At a press conference following the government session, Milosavljevic said that the number of employees in the health sector will be reduced by 5.4 percent as of October 31, in accordance with the adopted conclusion.
He pointed out that according to social programmes individually prepared for each health centre, by midnight on October 31, severance payments will be paid out for all 7,140 persons employed in the health sector, out of which 2,847 are non-medical and 4,293 are medical workers.
Milosavljevic said the government also adopted a draft bill on health insurance as another systematic law for the health sector and that it will enable the introduction of voluntary additional and supplementary health insurance.

Director of the Serbian Office of EU Integration Tanja Miscevic pointed out that the government also adopted an Information concerning an action plan for the harmonisation of all necessary segments in the judiciary, which is a prerequisite for Serbia’s European partnership.
Miscevic stressed that talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU will begin on November 7, adding that this Information is one of the most significant indicators of the Serbian government’s serious attitude to fulfilling its obligations toward the European partnership and the EU.
The list of activities prepared for the government session by the Office of EU Integration shows that in the first three quarters of 2005, the government adopted 14 out of 29 projected bills. Half of them also passed the Serbian parliament, but it is very important that the government adopts the remaining bills since they are necessary for the correct and quickest path to EU integration, Miscevic concluded.
