After the session of the team in the Palace of Serbia, Gojkovic said in a statement to reporters that the overall epidemiological situation in Serbia was analysed, which is still extraordinary at the moment, but what is important is that the number of newly infected stopped at some large numbers, while it is still not epidemiologically good.
The most important thing in this fight is that we have more than 25% of adult citizens who have received the vaccine. We have a threshold of one million citizens who received both doses, which is 18.6 percent of adult citizens, as well as more than 700,000 adults who can be considered fully immunised because more than three weeks have passed since the second dose of vaccine, Gojkovic explained.
He stated that the first contingent from the COVAX programme of 56,000 AstraZeneca vaccines should arrive in Serbia tonight.
Also, as he announced, on Monday, 5 April, half a million Chinese Sinofarm vaccines should arrive, as well as 106,000 Pfizer vaccines with the continuity agreed upon earlier.
According to his assessment, that is the key at this moment so that we can successfully reach the situation of slowly returning to a normal life and work regime.
Gojkovic also announced that the crisis response team will propose to the government of Serbia new measures that envisage that catering facilities with gardens will start working on 5 April, in precisely defined conditions, and the work of all others will be extended until 10 pm.
As for the shopping centres, we will decide this weekend whether they will be reopened, he said.
Gojkovic added that, however, everything will depend on what the numbers will be during the weekend and that the new measures will be applied if there are no sudden jumps in the number of infected people.
He mentioned that cafés and catering facilities, if the situation does not get worse, will be able to receive guests from Monday, but only in the gardens, noting that this applies to all facilities in Serbia.
Classes in schools, as he pointed out, will remain online until further notice, because there are no conditions for students to return to normal school activities.
