In a statement to the press, Gojkovic said that there is still a large number of newly infected citizens, but that the number is increasing minimally every day compared to the previous day, which shows that the adopted measures are working.
That number is still high and we need to continue to adhere to the existing measures as much as possible and to get vaccinated. Vaccines are the only thing that can get us out of the epidemic in the long run, he underlined.
He added that members of the team also discussed today the entry into the country of Serbian citizens who have are fully vaccinated, and stated that the government will specify by a decree that all those who are fully vaccinated, with a vaccination certificate from Serbia, can enter the country without a PCR test and quarantine.
According to him, the same will apply to foreign citizens, who will be able to enter Serbia without a PCR test and quarantine if they are fully vaccinated with vaccines from Serbia.
A full vaccination means two doses of Pfizer, Sputnik V or Sinopharm vaccine. Given that AstraZeneca currently has only one dose, it is assumed that one dose is on par with these three vaccines that require double immunisation, Gojkovic explained.
He pointed out that the current measures remain in force until further notice because they contribute to the fact that there is no exponential growth in the number of infected people, adding that the state is doing everything to help everyone who does not have the opportunity to earn a living.
The Provincial Health Secretary underlined that the best economic stimulus at this moment is vaccination and added that approximately 1.3 million people have been vaccinated so far and almost 900,000 citizens have been completely immunised.
