Additional capacities for COVID hospitals in Belgrade

After the meeting of the Minister of Health with the directors of the covid hospitals, Stevanovic stated that the capacities in the covid hospital in Krusevac will also be maximally engaged, because Batajnica is already overloaded and the projected capacities are nearly full.
He pointed out that patients from Belgrade and other places can be expected to be referred to Krusevac for treatment today and tomorrow, noting that, according to the situation, further decisions will be made in the coming days on what to do and how to adjust the health system to this situation.
The Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic reminded that in December last year, the maximum number of hospitalised was higher than 11,000, and that then the health system showed that it could cope with the situation.
Stevanovic pointed out that it would be possible to receive a few thousand more than that number, warning that this would mean that all non-covid patients would be left without care.
