Support programme “For Our Heroes“ for all those in COVID-19 system

The Serbian government stated today that it will launch a programme of support “For Our Heroes” in order to show respect and gratitude to doctors, medical staff, volunteers and all those who are in the front line of defence against COVID-19, who are our heroes today more than ever.

The Serbian government and the Ministry of Health will launch this programme in order to express gratitude to all of them for their daily commitment to saving the health and lives of all citizens.

The programme will be implemented through a personalised benefit card “Our Hero“, and will be realised in association with the Secretariat General of the Serbian government, the National Bank of Serbia, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and public institutions, with the support of the UNDP.

The personalised card “Our Hero“ will offer special benefits to those who are employed or volunteers in the COVID-19 system, such as discounts when paying for goods and services at partner companies and entrepreneurs.

Also, the holder of the personalised card will have an advantage when exercising his or her rights or receiving services at state institutions, public companies, local self-governments and institutions of social care, as well as at companies that perform activities of general interest.

Member of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team Darija Kisic-Tepavcevic said during the presentation of this programme that it has been launched in order to make it possible for every individual and company, from small enterprises to big chains, to express solidarity and gratitude to health workers and others who are engaged in the COVID-19 system.

Over fifty companies have already joined the programme “For Our Heroes“ which offer discounts for their goods and services.

All companies wishing to become partners to the programme can do so by signing the Protocol of cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce or the Secretariat General of the Serbian government.

Those eligible to become holders of the benefit card “Our Hero“ are all those who are employed, working or volunteering in the COVID-19 system and they will be able to use the card in the entire territory of Serbia, regardless of their place of residence.

All information on the programme “For Our Heroes“ can be obtained on the phone number 0800 252 252, which is available every working day from 8 am to 5 pm.

The holders of the “Our Hero“ card will also be able to get information electronically, by sending an inquiry at e-mail heroj@nasheroj.gov.rs.
