In a statement for Television Prva, Brnabic said that this is more or less enough to vaccinate all medical workers in the red zones in Northern Macedonia.
The Prime Minister noted that the agreement which Serbia has with Pfizer explicitly states that our country must have the consent of that company to donate vaccines, regardless of the fact that Serbia purchased them.
We tried to get the consent as soon as possible, and it arrived last night around 9 pm, after which we organised the delivery, Brnabic said.
She pointed out that this morning, around 4 o'clock, the vaccines were sent to the Tabanovce border crossing, noting that Northern Macedonia issued all the necessary import permits last night and that a donation agreement was signed between Pfizer, Northern Macedonia and Serbia.
She added that an amount of Sputnik V vaccines was donated to Republika Srpska, saying that solidarity is now most important and that the citizens of Serbia should be proud that we are able to help.
In addition, more than 40,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will arrive in Serbia tomorrow, the Prime Minister said and added that the first doses of the Astra-Zeneka vaccine are expected to arrive next week.
Vaccines from the COVAX programme are expected in March, the Prime Minister said, which means that Serbian citizens will have a large selection of vaccines to choose from.
She pointed out that the capacity for vaccination is now being raised and that there will no doubt be enough vaccines for everyone who wants to be immunised.
The Prime Minister said that the response of citizens to vaccination in our country is almost the best in Europe, specifying that 635,000 people have received the first dose of the vaccine so far, and that approximately 182,000 have been revaccinated, which is approximately more than 805,000 vaccinations.
At this moment, 11 percent of the total adult population received the first vaccine, about three percent received both doses and I expect that slightly less than 20 percent will have received the first dose by the end of February, Brnabic concluded.
