Lasting solution to environmental problems in 65 municipalities

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic and Director of China Road and Bridge Corporation Office in Serbia Zhang Xiaoyuan signed today commercial contracts for the design and execution of works on the construction of utility infrastructure and infrastructure for the disposal of municipal solid waste in Serbia.

These contracts will allow for the creation of conditions for many municipalities and cities in Serbia to solve their decades old problems related to wastewater purification and the disposal and treatment of solid waste.

The project of construction of utility infrastructure and infrastructure for the disposal of municipal solid waste is envisaged by the programme “Serbia 2025” and is currently the most valuable project that is being implemented in our country.

Momirovic underlined that the contracts will enable the design and execution of works on the construction of wastewater treatment plants, sewerage network and pumping stations in 65 municipalities and cities, at a total of 73 locations, as well as rehabilitation or construction of regional landfills at six locations. The value of the contracts is €3.2 billion.

All planned works and construction of facilities will be carried out in accordance with Serbian regulations, but also European directives in this area, with the highest standards and the application of the latest technologies.
