President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic received today at Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport an airplane carrying one million doses of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine of company Sinopharm.
An Air Serbia's aircraft, which brought the first shipment of the Chinese vaccine, was also received by Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, Head of the Security and Intelligence Agency Bratislav Gasic and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo.
Vucic told the reporters that the vaccine will be put to use as soon as it receives a permission from the Serbian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices.
He added that Serbia has still not received a single vaccine through the COVAX system, but that all the vaccines that arrived in the country are a result of bilateral agreements – with the United States of America for the Pfizer vaccine, with the Russian Federation for the Sputnik V and with the People's Republic of China for the Sinopharm vaccine.
