Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar stated today that a total of 1,949 health workers in Serbia are infected with coronavirus, of whom 64 are hospitalised.

Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar stated today that a total of 1,949 health workers in Serbia are infected with coronavirus, of whom 64 are hospitalised.
After a meeting with directors of COVID hospitals, Loncar urged citizens once more to respect the anti-coronavirus measures as that is the only way to help themselves and the health workers.
The Minister added that the Clinic for Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Clinical Centre of Serbia in Zvecanska Street will start operating as a COVID hospital as of tomorrow and that it will have a number of beds at the ICU and for oxygen support.
He also said that today patients from Belgrade will be sent to Niska Banja and to the temporary hospital in Kragujevac and that more capacity will be created in Vrnjacka Banja.
Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic Goran Stevanovic said that last night patients from that clinic were sent to Kragujevac and Niska Banja.
Member of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team Mijomir Pelemis pointed out that the team is evaluating the situation on an hourly basis and that it will tighten measures if the situation worsens.
He pointed out that the number of deaths is increasing and warned that this will unfortunately continue if the measures are not respected.
