Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic said today in Antalya that Serbia, as a candidate for membership in the European Union, pays great attention to improving regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations, which he sees as inseparable from its European integration.

Selakovic addressed the participants of the informal meeting of foreign ministers of the Southeast European Cooperation Process, whose topic is how to strengthen cooperation in Southeast Europe based on the experience with the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.
He said that Serbia, for its part, has taken decisive steps to bring its legislation in line with European Union regulations, implementing very concrete reforms to fully become an area of freedom, security and justice.
The Minister stated that we are at a point where the process of European integration of the Western Balkans region is irreversible.
The head of Serbian diplomacy expressed his belief that the region, thanks to its readiness to jointly respond to global challenges such as a pandemic, has the capacity for much more, which is confirmed by numerous regional projects, many of which stem from agreements reached within the Berlin Process.
