Kon said at a coronavirus press briefing at the Palace of Serbia that a mild increase in cases has been recorded in the country’s capital and that this number ranged from seven to 27.
When we look at the situation in hospitals, 36 percent of all those infected in Serbia are in Belgrade, he said and added that the situation is also worrying in Kragujevac, Zajecar and Presevo. The COVID-19 Crisis Response Team in Kragujevac has been instructed to be on increased alert during the weekend.
He reiterated that it is important that measures are strictly adhered to in order to maintain a situation at an acceptable level.
Kon also announced that a possible introduction of quarantine for the Serbian citizens coming back from abroad, especially from Montenegro, will be examined at a session of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team on Monday.
He explained that it will not be a classic quarantine, to close someone and move them out of their own house and underlined that something like this is not planned, nor has ever been discussed.
Director of the Serbian Public Health Institute “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut” Verica Jovanovic confirmed that due to non-compliance with the epidemiological measures, the inspection service fined individuals and companies, namely, restaurants, cafes, and those who organised private celebrations and those who attended them.
