Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar spoke today via video link with Regional Director of the World Health Organization for Europe Hans Kluge about the epidemiological situation in Serbia and Europe and joint activities in the upcoming period.
Loncar expressed gratitude to Kluge for the support given to Serbia so far and underlined that coronavirus can be defeated only through joint activities and cooperation among all European states because a virus knows no borders.
The WHO Regional Director for Europe expressed gratitude once more to the Serbian President and Minister Loncar on the support and implementation of the priorities agreed at the meeting in February.
He pointed out that the current epidemiological situation in Serbia is the best confirmation of efficiency of epidemiological measures, and that Serbia’s response to the second peak of the first wave has been timely and appropriate and that the preventive measures introduced are giving good results.
Kluge made an official invitation to the Minister of Health to chair a conference on immunisation, which will be attended by representatives of 53 WHO member states in Europe.
