The COVID-19 Crisis Response Team held a session today at the Palace of Serbia, at which the current epidemiological situation in Serbia and the epidemiological measures in force were discussed.
The Team made a decision to allow cultural events with the presence of the audience, such as cinemas, theatres and concerts in cultural institutions, starting from Monday, 24 August, with restrictions that the organisers must strictly adhere to.
The presence of the audience or spectators is allowed, but their number must not exceed five hundred. This means that there should not be more than 500 spectators in cinemas and theatres, but also in larger halls and arenas.
In addition, the organisers should adhere to all preventive measures when organising events, which were agreed at the meeting of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and representatives of theatres, cinemas and events.
The wearing of masks is obligatory, as well as keeping a physical distance of 1.5 metres or one empty seat between people. A proper physical distance is mandated at open-air events too.
The Team made a decision to allow, after a long time, visits to old people’s homes, social care centres and similar institutions. The decision was made based on a somewhat more favourable epidemiological situation and in order to preserve the mental health and social life of residents. Visits are allowed only with the strictest observance of all preventive measures and visits protocols.
The COVID-19 Crisis Response Team reminds all citizens that the epidemiological situation is gradually improving, but that the danger of coronavirus infection is still present. If our discipline is not at a high level in the coming period, it will be very clearly reflected in the number of examinations and persons hospitalised.
It is necessary to continue wearing masks indoors, wash hands regularly, use disinfectants and maintain distance.
The COVID-19 Crisis Response Team continues to monitor the development of the epidemiological situation and to adjust preventive measures to the current situation. It is very important that we continue to be responsible towards ourselves and others and respect all measures, because only in this way will we all reach the goal together, and that is the final victory over the coronavirus.
