Kisic Tepavcevic stated at the press conference of the COVID-19 crisis response team that the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases indicates a further downward trend, which shows that we are on the right track.
However, she warned that right now we must do our best to respect all preventive measures in order to put the epidemic to an end.
According to her, there is still a high number of those infected in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Sabac.
We have examples of cities in which the epidemiological situation is much more favourable, she emphasised and added that one laboratory positive case was recorded in the area of Leskovac, and that none of the 44 tested in Tutin was positive.
The deputy director of "Batut" stated that in the area of Valjevo, out of 42 tested persons, one was positive, while Smederevo, Pozarevac and Cacak are cities where no laboratory positive cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, although between 50 and 100 persons were tested.
Kisic Tepavcevic also said that there is an increase in the number of newly infected patients in relation to the previous day in the area of Aleksinac.
The commander of the VMC Karaburma, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ivo Udovicic, said that the clinical picture of the patients is the same as at the beginning of the epidemic.
He warned that the elderly population is especially life-threatened and that in the last 15 days, several elderly people with severe pneumonia have been admitted to that health institution.
At the VMC Karaburma, 85 patients are currently accommodated, 12 of whom are in intensive care, Udovicic specified, noting that their condition is critical and doctors are fighting for their lives.
