After a meeting with directors of COVID hospitals, Loncar underlined that the situation is still problematic in Sabac, Kraljevo and Cacak and that 10 to 15 patients from Sabac will be transferred to Belgrade today, and part of the patients from Cacak to Kragujevac.
The Minister also said that due to a worsening epidemiological situation in Sabac, pregnant women from that city will be sent to hospitals in Loznica, Valjevo and Sremska Mitrovica.
Loncar added that a temporary COVID hospital is under preparation in the High School of Economics in Sabac. An expert team from the Clinical Centre of Serbia and military doctors will be sent there in order to help upgrade the health system in that city as soon as possible.
In addition, the introduction of a system for oxygen supply at a temporary hospital at Belgrade Arena should be completed within the next two days.
We are doing that not only because of this current peak of the epidemic, but in order to be ready for November when the flu and coronavirus can collide and for every new situation, the Minister explained.
He also added that 550 health workers in Serbia are infected with coronavirus, of whom 50 are hospitalised.
