Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar stated that the capacities in all COVID hospitals have been redistributed, so that all patients infected with coronavirus can be taken care of in the next two days.
Loncar pointed out that the Banjica Institute will no longer be able to receive patients today and during the night, because it is full, and announced that the Institute of Rheumatology will receive the first patients tonight or tomorrow morning.
We were forced to include the Institute of Rheumatology in the COVID system because there is a large number of patients who require hospital treatment in Belgrade, the Minister explained, adding that there are more than 100 beds available for COVID patients in that health institution.
He warned that the health care system is overburdened, that health workers are constantly in hospitals and that they almost never go home.
The Minister emphasised that the most difficult situation is in Belgrade, where there is the biggest problem with hospital capacities, while in Nis, Vranje, Leskovac, Kragujevac, Novi Sad, Sabac and Uzice, there are enough places in hospitals.
Loncar reiterated his appeal to the citizens to respect the measures and act in accordance with the doctor's recommendations, because, as he pointed out, only in that way can the situation improve.
