The Serbian government adopted today, at the proposal of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team, the Decision on Determining Special Measures to Protect the Population from the Infectious Disease in the territory of the City of Belgrade.
Given that the epidemiological situation is currently the most unfavourable in Belgrade, the government has decided to allow organised public gatherings of a maximum of 10 people, both outdoors and indoors.
Also, a minimum of four square meters must be provided for each person in all public enclosed spaces.
As of today, service facilities that do not have a garden (shopping facilities, shopping malls, hairdressers, gyms, betting shops) are obliged to work no later than 9 pm, and can be reopened from 6 am the next day.
Facilities with a garden can be open up to 11 pm, with a maximum respect for all protection measures.
The government adopted a National Justice Development Strategy for the period from 2020 to 2025 and an Action Plan for Negotiation Chapter 23 - Judiciary and Fundamental Rights within the accession negotiations of the Republic of Serbia with the European Union, as strategically important documents for continuing reforms in the field of rule of law.
The goal of the strategy is to continue the process of Serbia's accession to the European Union through strengthening the rule of law, ensuring access to justice and legal security, as well as achieving quality and efficient protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The European Commission gave an assessment and opinion on the revised Action Plan for Chapter 23 and this document has been harmonised with its recommendations.
