The Crisis Response Team for the Protection of the Health of the Population from Infectious Diseases COVID-19 today adopted new measures relating to the City of Belgrade, where the epidemiological situation is currently the most unfavourable.
A decision was made to completely ban organised public gatherings in Belgrade with more than 10 people, both outdoors and indoors.
Also, the number of people indoors is limited, so a space of at least 4 square metres must be provided for each person. For example, if the facility has 80 square metres, we can accommodate a maximum of 20 people.
As for the facilities in the capital that do not have a garden, they will be open until 21.00 tomorrow and will open at 6.00 at the earliest.
This means that all catering facilities that are indoors, shopping facilities, shopping malls, hairdressers, gyms, bookmakers, etc. are not allowed to work after 21.00.
Facilities with a garden can work up to 23.00, with maximum respect for all protection measures.
As for the rest of the Republic of Serbia, a decision was made that cities and municipalities will in the future make decisions on declaring emergency situations based on the full capacity of health institutions.
The government of the Republic of Serbia strongly condemns the riots recorded in the previous two days in Belgrade and some other cities in Serbia, which cause great material damage just at the time when we as a society should be united in the fight against the infectious disease COVID-19.
It should be added that this is certainly not responsible behaviour, which in the current situation would contribute to preserving our health and reducing the pressure on our health system.
On the contrary, the riots will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the spread of coronavirus and the epidemiological picture in the days ahead.
Once again, we strongly appeal to all citizens to adhere to protection measures as much as possible, so that we can all together preserve our health, the health of the people around us, but also our health system, whose capacities are limited.
Responsible behaviour, wearing protective masks, regular hand washing and keeping a distance are vital to preserving our lives and health.
