Velimir Ilic
At a press conference following the government’s session, Ilic said that an important decision was passed on the giving of concessions for the building of the Belgrade-Pozega, Horgos-Novi Sad and Novi Sad-Belgrade motorways. He also said that the Serbian Ministry of Capital Investment, the Serbian Ministry of Finance and the Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations will be required to call a tender for a financial and legal advisor for concluding the concession contract.
The Minister of Capital Investment announced that an invitation for bids for all companies interested in the concession will be announced by the beginning of October, and pointed out that this is one of Serbia’s largest investments in the past 20 years.
Predrag Bubalo
The Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo said that the government adopted the Information on the realisation of the programme of the business-financial consolidation of Pancevo’s glass industry public company, which is in the process of restructuring.
Bubalo said on the occasion of the World Bank’s annual report, where Serbia-Montenegro was listed among the leading 12 countries in economic reforms, that the Serbian government has shown its commitment to reforms in the best possible way.
According to him, the Serbian Ministry of Economy had also contributed to such a favourable assessment by a set of laws, such as the laws on bankruptcy, the registration and establishing of economic societies and other laws, which all represent an additional obligation and show Serbia-Montenegro’s preparedness for the upcoming negotiations with the EU.
Mladjan Dinkic
The Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic said that the Serbian government today adopted separate bills on Serbia’s final budget for 2004, 2003 and 2002.
Dinkic also said that the government agreed to allocate budgetary funds, worth 10 million dinars, for Serbia’s participation in the financing of the 2005 Men’s European Basketball Championships, held in Serbia-Montenegro.
According to him, the government also agreed to allocate 21.4 million dinars as financial awards for sportsmen and sports associations for having won gold metals at junior and senior competitions in 2005 and for the bronze medal winners at the Special Olympics Games in Athens last year.
The Minister of Finance said that the government agreed to allocate 4.5 million dinars for the drafting of Serbia’s Study of National Minorities.
Dinkic also pointed out that the Serbian Ministry of Finance’s Budgetary Inspection Service submitted a report at today’s session concerning the harmful contract between the Serbia-Montenegrin Ministry of Defence and the Mile Dragic company, which would have inflicted damage to Serbia-Montenegro in the amount of about €75 million.
