The Serbian government approved the employment on an indeterminate basis of 455 caregivers and 127 health workers at social care institutions who were hired during the state of emergency on a temporary basis.
Caregivers and health workers showed a high level of professionalism and dedication in providing care and health treatment to patients during the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 infectious disease. Their hiring is still necessary after the lifting of the state of emergency, in order to prevent and eliminate the consequences of this infectious disease.
At today’s session, the Serbian government adopted a regulatory framework for support to the tourism and hospitality industries and passenger traffic in the conditions of a difficult economic situation caused by the COVID–19 pandemic.
Business entities from these industries will be able to take loans from the Development Fund for current liquidity and working assets under modified terms, which include a five-year repayment period and a grace period of up to two years. The total duration of the loan is up to 24 months of grace period and up to 36 months of repayment period and a 1 percent annual interest rate.
The loans are approved and repaid in Serbian dinars and the maximum amount of the loan for one beneficiary with associated parties can be: up to RSD 20,000,000 for sole proprietors and micro enterprises, up to RSD 80,000,000 for small enterprises and up to 180,000,000 for medium-sized enterprises.
The highest amount of the loan approved can be up to 80 percent of the realised business revenues according to the latest financial report submitted.
The Serbian government decided to declare year 2020 a year of solidarity and cooperation, since organised solidarity and cooperation at all levels of society proved to be a necessary factor in saving life and health of the population during the epidemic of COVID–19.
The launch of this initiative is reflected in the improvement of cooperation of state bodies, professional and humanitarian organisations and associations for the sake of improving the quality of life in all segments, as well as proposals for the improvement and direction of international cooperation.
