This excavation will supply thermal power plants Kolubara B and Nikola Tesla A in Obrenovac, and the coal reserves amount to 400 million tonnes, which guarantees the future and sustainability of Kolubara.
Vucic said that during the state of emergency in Serbia over the coronavirus epidemic 9,000 workers became jobless and 9,700 got employed.
Antic said that the production of coal has increased by 5.3% since the beginning of the year in relation to the same period last year, noting that in April the coal production increased by 6% compared to April last year, despite difficult conditions of work due to the epidemic.
Mining and energy companies showed strength and stability during the state of emergency and maintained a regular production of coal and electricity, the Minister pointed out and underlined that an increased production of coal in April secured energy stability of the country.
Mali stated that Serbia is coming out as a winner from the crisis caused by coronavirus, which would not have been possible had it not been for the work and effort of the employees of the Kolubara mining basin and the Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
According to Mali, the next important step is to continue with investments, with the "Serbia 2025" project, for which 14 billion euros have been set aside.
