The Cabinet of the Minister without Portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development announced today that SmartResearch and the Mihajlo Pupin Institute have developed five prototype devices for mechanical ventilation.
The operation of these devices is based on technological solutions that should be used in the future in the production of Serbian ventilators for the treatment of patients infected with coronavirus.
The design of these devices is adapted to fast production technologies, such as 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters, and most of the components are manufactured in Serbia.
So far, five prototype devices have been produced, and after their validation by the competent state institutions, the production capacity of the Mihajlo Pupin Institute could be ten complete devices per day.
The team that developed this ventilator included numerous electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and programmers, primarily from the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, as well as anaesthesiologists and a molecular biologist.
