Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar attended today the delivery of the first four of the 50 ventilators that UNICEF donated to our health system.
Loncar explained that, thanks to that donation, Bezanijska kosa clinical hospital centre received two ventilators, and the Institute for Mother and Child and the University Children's Clinic in Tirsova one each, adding that all 50 ventilators will be distributed to health institutions in Serbia by the end of May.
The Minister pointed out that these are ventilators of the latest generation, on which both invasive and non-invasive therapy can be applied, noting that this donation is worth more than $1 million.
Director of UNICEF for Serbia Regina de Dominicis said that the organisation, together with the Ministry of Health, determined the health institutions that need ventilators, and that the cooperation will be continued.
The value of one respirator is $21,600, and for the first four that were awarded today, $86,400 was set aside, while all 50 cost $1,080,000.
