Epidemiologist Predrag Kon stated that the virus will be getting weaker and weaker and that it is almost certain that it will gradually disappear in a few weeks' time and will be returning only sporadically.
He noted that the citizens have understood very well the importance of precautionary measures, which is seen by the fact that they keep social distance which, in addition to the use of masks and gloves, is still the best prevention which we must adhere to for some more time.
According to Kon, the citizens of Serbia have not returned to normal life too fast since public transport, which is crucial for normal functioning of cities, has still not been resumed.
Only once public transport starts functioning in a regular way will we be able to say that life has gone back to normal, because that is one of the main places where transmission of respiratory diseases occur, in addition to kindergartens and schools, Kon explained.
He highlighted once more the importance of adhering to the rules of behaviour of passengers in public transport, where all protective measures have to be respected even more strictly since the risk of virus transmission is high there.
As the virus becomes weaker, the public transport will be slowly opened for pupils and students too and only finally for the persons over 65 and those with chronic illnesses, with the obligatory use of masks and gloves, he reiterated.
