First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said today that our country can open its borders, but added that there is no free border crossing regime anywhere.
Dacic explained at a session of the Serbian Parliament that all states are seeking some kind of certificate or entry permit during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, citizens who live in a small border area, which is about 50 km long and have land or work on the other side of the border, can cross without restrictions on self-isolation or isolation measures.
He added that only Hungary has so far started implementing those measures, adding that an agreement with Bulgaria is underway and noted that he expects that implementation could start in the coming days.
It was difficult to reach an agreement with Bosnia-Herzegovina. We expected it to be easier, a large number of people expect it from both the Serb and Bosnian sides, Dacic said.
